About the ASSOCIATION
The Association of Political Prisoners of Belarus was established in 2024 by former political prisoners who were forced to migrate to various countries of the world. Our mission is to unite efforts to support all those affected by repression, facilitate their social, legal, and psychological adaptation, and preserve the memory of the struggle for freedom.

On September 10, 2025, a working meeting was held at Tsikhanouskaya’s Office to discuss the readiness of democratic forces and support organizations for the mass releases and forced deportations of political prisoners.
Campaign “Helping Hand”
Our ongoing solidarity projects, exhibitions, and support initiatives across Europe.
Helping Hand: The main role is performed by the former political prisoner, musician, and poet Anatol Khinevich.
Canvases with Handprints of Freedom
The “Helping Hand” campaign was launched on May 18, 2025, on the Day of Solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners at Cathedral Square in Vilnius and has continued ever since.
Since then, canvases with handprints of former political prisoners have taken part in several international exhibitions, with some entering private collections through auctions. All proceeds from the sale of paintings go directly to support political prisoners and their families.

For Belarusian Language Day 2026
This poem was written in 1910. Its author, Ales Harun, was an active figure in the Belarusian national movement and a participant in the revolutionary events of the early 20th century. In 1907, he was arrested, convicted, and sent to serve his sentence in Siberia.
Unfortunately, the relevance of this poem has only increased over the past 115 years. But it is within our power to change the current reality. A native language is not just the language you first heard in childhood — it is the reflection of the culture of your people and your land.
Letters to Political Prisoners
As former political prisoners, we know how important it is to receive a letter from the outside. Every month we send more than 1000 letters and solidarity postcards to political prisoners in penal colonies and prisons.
Join our initiative! Write words of encouragement or support our mailing fund so that no political prisoner feels forgotten behind bars.

The iconic rock band VOLSKI released a powerful music video for the song “Wait for Me” (“Чакай мяне”) from the new album “Letters to Political Prisoners” on YouTube.
More than 30 former political prisoners who were forced into exile participated in the recording, sharing their resilience and belief in a free democratic Belarus.

Hello friends! We are a team of former political prisoners, we ask you to support a unique collection, which is very important for us and our comrades. With the money collected, we will purchase tools for repair, construction and cleaning. And we will give an opportunity to earn money to our boys and girls who are forced to migrate and are waiting for asylum. The Association’s volunteers, based on the results of the collection, will post a report on the spending of funds on our website, and will also help former political prisoners find part-time jobs and support themselves with their work.
